Overview

The HPEP Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of identified alcohol and other drug prevention programming with the Hispanic community.  Delivering evidence-based curricula to youth in both school classroom and community after school settings.  Deliver evidence-based programs to parents/adults within the Hispanic community.  Facilitate and encourage a network of support services and referrals to other needed community services for adults and children within the Hispanic community who are at risk or directly affected by addictions.

Responsibilities

  • Respects and maintains confidentiality of participants in NCADD-RA programs.
  • Demonstrates a positive and caring attitude toward community, all participants in services, and staff.
  • Deliver evidence-based programs to identified school classrooms at multiple grade levels within Rochester and Monroe County in either Spanish or English depending on preference of classroom. Maintain relationships with referring teachers and/or administrators to ensure classroom access for required number of sessions and needed pre/post evaluations during program delivery.
  • Deliver culturally sensitive evidence-based programs to identified after school groups, community programs who work with youth and families. Foster relationships with program administrators to ensure programmatic access to youth and/or families engaged with their systems.
  • Both maintain data, and record in NYS OASAS WITNYS required programmatic data. Records include EBP pre/post, knowledge gained, client satisfaction and other specific measures.  Prepare both mid-year and end of year (at minimum) program delivery status reports for Director.
  • Be familiar with NCADD-RA’s many resource referral directories, programs, and other related community services to effectively refer callers to treatment and recovery resources as requested.
  • Represent NCADD-RA at various assigned community networks, health/resource fairs as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as needed or requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or Health Education preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPP, CPS, or CASAC credential preferred.
  • Two to three years in program delivery and development working with youth, families, community outreach within the diverse Hispanic community.
  • Must be bilingual, fluent (written/oral) in Spanish and English. Preferably a native Spanish speaker.
  • Must have a clean and valid NYS driver’s license that meets the agency’s Clean Driving Record Policy (per pre-hire DMV screen) and be able to drive and travel.
  • Personal transportation is required to accomplish core job functions.
