The Occupational Therapist will evaluate, create treatment plans and oversee progress of clients with the goals of living independently in the community. In addition, to individual treatments the occupational therapist will create and run therapeutic groups to promote participation and independence within the client’s chosen communities. They will also work with families and collaborate with related mental health professionals to provide an integrated team approach to the client’s care.

The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree from an accredited occupational therapy program, certified by the National Board for Occupational Therapy, and be licensed as an occupational therapist in the state of New York. At least one year of experience in a mental health setting is preferred but will except entry-level knowledge of occupational therapy practice in mental health.
In addition to the above criteria this position also requires a clean NYS driving record as outlined in DePaul’s personnel policy.
